Today marks the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. I recently took a trip to the 9/11 Memorial in NYC, which opened on the 10th anniversary of the attacks. It’s a beautiful Memorial to reflect and pay respects to those that were lost on that tragic day. The tall building in the photos is the One World Trade Center (previously known as the Freedom Tower), which is still under construction.
The photo below of the apartment entrance was taken just a block down from where I stayed in NY. We found out that according to detective paperwork about the 9/11 terrorists, that apartment is where Mohamed Atta, who crashed the first plane into the first tower, lived for a little while back in 2000.
Dedicated to those who fell and to those who carry on.
May We Never Forget.
Great photos
Thank you. Thanks for visiting
I was at the memorial on Mother’s Day and it was just heart breaking seeing flowers placed all over…
I was there around the same time, a few days later I think. It was very heart breaking. I hope to go back again someday when the museum is open.
