The Big Apple

The Big Apple

I took my first trip to NYC a few months ago and I fell head over heels in love with this city! I met up with a good friend who was also on his first trip to NYC. We spent the whole trip exploring and getting lost in the city.

I’ve always heard rumors that New Yorkers are rude and don’t care. From what I experienced, its not true! I found New Yorkers to be quite friendly and helpful (except one guy working the newspaper stand in the subway station).

These are some of my favorite photos from the trip.

May We Never Forget.

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. I recently took a trip to the 9/11 Memorial in NYC, which opened on the 10th anniversary of the attacks. It’s a beautiful Memorial to reflect and pay respects to those that were lost on that tragic day. The tall building in the photos is the One World Trade Center (previously known as the Freedom Tower), which is still under construction.

The photo below of the apartment entrance was taken just a block down from where I stayed in NY.  We found out that according to detective paperwork about the 9/11 terrorists, that apartment is where Mohamed Atta, who crashed the first plane into the first tower, lived for a little while back in 2000.

Dedicated to those who fell and to those who carry on.

May We Never Forget.
